In 2024, the founder of Peru Maritime Group continued and expanded the cargo logistics business started by his grandfather in the 1970s. The grandfather was a top-ranked employee at W.R. Grace & Co. who took over the operations in Peru, becoming the agent for the company’s steamer division.

Other representations soon followed such as Prudential Lines, Lykes Lines, Johnson Lines, Nedlloyd (ex Royal Interocean Lines and KNSM), and Sea Land Services.

As the shipping and port agency businesses grew, the founder’s grandfather formed various companies in different industries such as real estate, hotels, and banking.
His son, a Vice Admiral of the Peruvian Navy, was an exemplary officer. He received the Peruvian Cross for Military Merit in the grade of Great Cross and the Military Order of Ayacucho in the grade of Great Cross. After retirement, he became a key member of the board for the family companies.

The current head of the company, with degrees from the University of Miami and Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management, worked abroad in banking and energy before returning to Lima in 2003. He led Greenandes Peru and other corporate ventures, representing major shipping companies and leading maritime and logistics projects.
